Sitting in my hotel room. In Tallinn, Estonia. A hotbed of business talent (Skype started here) and cultural brilliance (the most theatres here in the whole of Europe). Media today then a seminar tomorrow for business leaders.
As I relax and think, I listen to the staggeringly inspirational Charlie Rose interview of Bono (download it from iTunes - but only if your ready to be seriously elevated). So many provocative thoughts. Bono talks about reducing third world debt, eliminating aids in Africa ("the whole country is going down in flames and we're standing there with a watering can") and why he loves music.
But one of the primary points for me is his astute recognition that he's been blessed with a gift. And so are you. "The tragedy is that most people die without discovering their gifts. The homeless man could have been a cellist."
So I ask you - with immense respect: "what's your gift/genius/talent?" You have one. And the world will be less a place - by far – if you get to the end without having allowed it to see the light of day.
P.S.
Here’s a link to an interview today on Estonian National Television.
