I'm at 34,005 feet, according to the screen in front of me on this Emirates Airlines flight from Dubai to Joburg. Listening to Jagged Little Pill by fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette and really getting how brilliant the album is. And while I take in the music and the chance for 8 hours alone mid-way into this blitz of a tour, my mind fills with reflections. So please allow me to share a few of them as they just might help you create the dazzling success-and beautiful inner peace-that you're seeking:

1. Make time for yourself. Sounds really obvious but most people don't spend an hour alone across an entire month. Solitude is a powerful way to reconnect with who you truly are. And the person you dream of becoming.

2. In Dubai, we stayed at a brand new hotel in Downtown Burj Dubai called The Address. Only a month old yet they got it right. Every single staff member smiles and says hello as soon as they see you. They rush to be of service and create some wow in your day. The room was perfect. The food was amazing. And the gym was excellent. World-class is still alive and well in a world where too many settle for being average.

3. On Dubai: a place for dreamers. It's all about FMOB-being the First, The Most, The Only...and The Best. The Burj Tower is the tallest building on Earth. The new airport will be the largest in the world. There's a ski hill in a mall and a palm-shaped residential development in the sea. Nothing's impossible in Dubai. Inspiring. We need more dreamers amongst us.

4. No matter where you go, people are Good. Whether it was at the FICCI or Welspun events in India or the workshop in Muscat or the Abu Dhabi Commercial bank sessions I delivered on Wednesday or the Entrepreneurs Organization workshop in Dubai, I was so very inspired by all the people I was blessed to meet who are genuinely waking up every morning devoted to leading without a title and expressing their best to the world. Deep inside every human being is a beating heart. And it's filled with Good. Along with a deep desire to stand for something. And make things better.
