Each summer as children exit the classroom my mom felt that the learning shouldn't end when the school closed for the summer. She felt that the classroom should simply change. Summer camp was her answer!
Most traditional summer camps offer similar programs like canoeing, kayaking, sailing and crafts. Many camps are now offering something that is very popular - leadership. Parents want to feel as if their children will return from a summer camp with a new found confidence, stronger self esteem and an ability to make better choices.
If you truly want your children to learn new skills in leadership and build self confidence, then YLCC is the solution. We offer a very progressive and systematic skills development program. Think of it this way, if you wanted your child to become an accomplished equestrian you would send them to a camp that specializes in horse back riding. Many camps may offer riding as an activity option, a chance to campers to try and see if they like it. When you want them to learn more and get good at a skill you send them to a specialized camp.
This is the exact same approach you should take when choosing a leadership camp for your children. There should be a measurable leadership program, one that teaches very real, tangible skills, such as goal setting, time management, conflict resolution, team and trust building, listening and speaking skills. These are all taught at YLCC. Invest in the future of your children. The more your son and/or daughter can be exposed to leadership development the better. This summer send your child to summer camp and reap the rewards for years.
