I've been reading a fair amount of research on longevity and on the scientific quest for immortality.
4 little-known facts that I wanted to share with you in the spirit of being helpful to your agelessness...
[Just imagine how genius you'll be with 100 years of practice around your craft].
#1. Some jellyfish appear to live forever. Observing this as well as other remarkable phenomena, the co-founders of Google, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, have founded Calico with the primary aim of increasing human lifespan.
#2. The average life expectancy rose from 70 in 1960 to 79 recently. Some researchers expect the children of today to live to 120 in the future.
#3. Russian tech mogul Dmitry Itskov, who has founded the 2045 Initiative, predicts that by 2025, an artificial life-support system for the human brain linked to a robot will allow people whose bodies have worn out to continue living.
#4. Ray Kurzweil—the visionary inventor—sees a time when advances in technology, gains in nutrition and the results of the anti-aging research currently being conducted will "enable humans to live indefinitely."
All eminently cool, yes? It's all still a little off into the future but let each of us remember Eubie Blake's idea: "If I'd known I'd live this long I'd have taken better care of myself."
So beginning today:
—Take even better care of yourself. Please.
—Produce work that fuels your best self.
—Be with people who inspire [and rejuvenate] you.
—Make time to rest, exercise, meditate, walk in nature, keep a journal and study [no, devour] books that reveal new territories of unimaginable possibilities.
